Parish Council Elections

All seven existing Parish Council positions will be up for election. Some parish councillors will not be standing again, so this election is an opportunity for those who feel they have something actively to contribute to the work of the parish council, or know of others who might be interested in standing as a councillor to put their names forward.
If there are more than seven candidates, an election will be held.
The post is of course a voluntary one but the responsibilities are wide ranging and interesting.
Details of how to apply formally are given below but any of the existing councillors or the clerk would be happy to discuss the work of a parish councillor informally and answer any queries intending applicants might have.

Local Parish Council elections will be held on 3rd May and nominations must be in by noon on the 4th April, 2012.
To apply, call the Stroud District Council elections team during office hours on01453 754886, or email elections@stroud.gov.uk.
