Felling work will be undertaken at Woodchester Park from the beginning of December. This is a continuation of work started last year to remove an area of non-native Western Red Cedar trees. The National Trust will also be removing ash trees from the medium and high visitor zones (near tracks, picnic areas etc.) as part of health and safety work. The works in total will take approximately three months depending on the weather.
To keep everyone safe during these essential works some parts of the park’s waymarked trails will sadly be temporarily closed. There will at times unfortunately be no access along routes into the Park from one or other end. When access into the park is possible, diversion signs will be in place to allow walkers to still complete a circular route through the park. The Parish Council have asked that when one entrance is closed, this is made clear with signage at the other entrance.
