A group of residents have bought 2 acres of land at the bottom of The Ram’s car park and formed the South Woodchester Amenity Land Trust (SWALT) with the aim of safeguarding the old “Orchard Pastures” as a focus of the community to be used for and by the villagers. Orchard and allotment projects are steaming ahead, hence the clearance, with other projects (children’s play area, gardens, bee-keeping, vineyard, composting and parking) being researched.
