Parish Council Deploys VAS sign

Woodchester Parish Council’s new Vehicle Activated Speed (VAS) sign has been deployed for the first time this week. The device indicates vehicle speed to approaching drivers and also records traffic volume and speed of every individual vehicle in both directions. In addition to reminding drivers to observe the speed limit, the traffic volume and speed data collected will inform future Parish traffic policy. By highlighting locations where speeding is prevalent, the Parish Council can work with local police to enforce speed limits where appropriate.

If you have any questions about the implementation of the Parish VAS or suggestions about locations for its future deployment, please contact the Parish Clerk, or Councillor Iain Dunbar on 07484  228024.
