Work is currently taking place to create 2 small ponds/scrapes at Boundary court Farm. The work could take between 5 – 10 days (no disruption to footpaths) but will involve excavators to dig out the ponds. This work has been funded and will be overseen by WWT (Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust ) . The ponds are likely to be ephemeral in that they are likely to dry up at points in the year. The aim of this work is to provide additional freshwater habitats on the farm which will support a variety of wildlife.
Below is a link to WWT website which summarises some of these different types of freshwater habitats and their benefits to nature.
